What a Weekend!
Wow! What a weekend! I had a seminar in Birmingham (though I did little class time), so we made a mini-vacation out of it. We stayed Friday and Saturday night at the Marriott in Birmingham-very nice hotel where the seminar was held. On Friday, we left at lunch time and stopped and ate at Olive Garden (our favorite and morgan's). When we got to the hotel, Morgan had to make use of the indoor pool (2 times that day). We went to Chuckee Cheese's on Sat. morning and to the galleria. We ate lunch at PF Changs (excellent, by the way). After lunch, I had to go sign in so the kids took a much needed nap (Mommy and Daddy got our first nap in like 4 years too). After everyone got up we went to the McWayne Science Center. We had a blast. Morgan's favorite part was the dinosaurs. We are taking her to "Walk with the Dinosaurs" at the BJCC in April. When we got back to the hotel she wanted to go swimming. The weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend, 68-72 degrees! I really have spring fever!! Today we went to the zoo and then came home. Morgan was able to play outside on her swing set and ride her bike! Too bad it's back to work tomorrow!! I'm still beating myself up over Spud, my horse. It's really taken a toll on me. My Dad reassures me I made the right decision, but I still miss him terribly.

Getting Started
I started setting this thing up over 2 weeks ago and am just now getting my 1st blog done. Should tell me something about how much time I have for this. Last night was a very hard night. Dad called me at work at about 4 and told me one of my horses was down. We called the vet out and he explained that he had twisted his intestine and that our best option was to put him down. I have always dreaded to have to make that decision and here it was. I contemplated for over 2 hours before deciding he'd been through enough. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I've cried almost nonstop since. Morgan, my 4 year old, kept telling me all the things he was doing in heaven. She was really worried about me and him. Mom said she kept praying for him. My Dad stood out in 20 degree weather to help hold him and to be with me. It really meant a lot to me-I know how much he really doesn't like animals. Well I'll try to blog more later. Keep us in your prayers.
